Job Description

Job Title: Academic Mentor

Location: Alappuzha, Kerala

Role Overview

As an Academic Mentor, you are the central driver of student achievement within our Integrated Studies Program (ISP). In this non-residential capacity, you will serve as the primary “anchor” for day scholars, ensuring they utilize their campus hours with peak efficiency. You will function as the critical link between academic excellence and personal wellbeing—acting as a dedicated coach who guides students through a rigorous curriculum with confidence, resilience, and a focus on holistic growth.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Strategic Mentorship: Cultivate high-trust, impactful relationships with students. You will empower day scholars to master time management, establish ambitious academic benchmarks, and lead enrichment initiatives that integrate seamlessly into the school day.
• Performance Analytics: Rigorously monitor student trajectories within the integrated curriculum. When academic or attendance trends decline, you will partner with ISP faculty to develop and execute data-informed intervention strategies.
• Parent-Academic Liaison: Act as the primary professional link between the institution and the home. You will facilitate progress evaluations and provide families with clear, actionable guidance on supporting the ISP’s intensive requirements outside of school hours.
• Day-to-Day Coordination: Oversee student engagement and productivity on campus. You will help students harmonize their academic responsibilities with the logistical demands of their daily commutes and personal lives.
• Data Management: Maintain meticulous digital records of student achievements, attendance patterns, and behavioral insights using integrated platforms to ensure transparency and accountability.

Requirements

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in any field of study.
• Interpersonal Excellence: A demonstrated ability to mentor and inspire teenagers, paired with the professional maturity to consult effectively with parents and academic leadership.
• Communication: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Malayalam is a significant asset for fostering authentic engagement within the Alappuzha community.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong digital literacy, with specific competence in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and Microsoft Word for professional reporting.
• Mindset: You are highly methodical, resilient, and possess a sincere commitment to helping students flourish in a high-stakes, competitive academic setting.
