Job Title: Fashion Designer / Production Manager

Company: G5 Garima – Women’s Ethnic Wear Wholesale Brand (Unstitched Salwar Suits)

Location: 113, Park Street, Buddhar Point, Kolkata

Role Overview:

G5 Garima is looking for an experienced Fashion Designer / Production Manager who can independently handle design development, color planning, sampling, and end-to-end production execution for unstitched salwar suit collections. The role requires strong vendor and karigar management with hands-on knowledge of the Kolkata ethnic wear ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:Design & Product Development

• Plan and develop color charts, themes, and design concepts for unstitched salwar suit collections
• Design and finalize prints, embroideries, placements, and fabric combinations
• Coordinate and supervise sampling of unstitched suits (top, bottom, dupatta)
• Ensure designs are aligned with market trends and wholesale buyer demand

Production Planning & Execution

• Plan and execute end-to-end production schedules from sampling to bulk production
• Manage costing, timelines, and quality standards for each design
• Prepare production briefs and ensure correct execution by karigars

Karigar & Vendor Management

• Maintain and manage a strong network of karigars and vendors including:
• Hand embroidery (handwork)
• Dyeing & printing units
• Tailoring & finishing units
• Allocate work, negotiate rates, track progress, and ensure timely delivery
• Conduct regular quality checks at different stages of production

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with the sales and management teams for collection planning
• Maintain design, sampling, and production data
• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure smooth workflow

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in women’s ethnic wear (mandatory)
• Experience in unstitched salwar suit design and production is compulsory
• Strong knowledge of fabrics, dyeing, printing, embroidery, and finishing
• Established karigar and vendor contacts in Kolkata preferred
• Ability to independently manage multiple designs and production timelines
• Good organizational, communication, and negotiation skills
