Job Description

We are looking for a skilled VMC Programmer to join our machining division. The candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and optimizing VMC operations to produce high-precision components used in grey and ductile iron castings.

This role is critical to improving productivity, reducing cycle time, and maintaining consistent machining quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare CNC programs for VMC machines using G-code / CAM software
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process sheets
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies
• Perform machine setup, prove-out, and first-off inspection
• Optimize programs for cycle time, tool life, and surface finish
• Troubleshoot machining issues related to tooling, programming, or material
• Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams
• Ensure adherence to safety and quality standards
• Maintain proper documentation for programs and revisions

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma / ITI / BE in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 3–7 years experience as a VMC Programmer (flexible based on skill)
• Hands-on experience with Vertical Machining Centres
• Strong knowledge of:
• G-codes & M-codes
• Cutting tools & inserts
• Machining of cast iron components (preferred)
• Experience with CAM software (PowerMill)
• Ability to work independently on new jobs and repeat parts
• Familiarity with quality measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer)

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience machining infrastructure castings and patterns
• Exposure to horizontal machining / turning centres
• ERP or production reporting experience
• Leadership ability to guide operators or helpers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,00.00 – ₹40,00.00 per month
